Invoicing

Invoicing is done monthly. We kindly ask you to use our tool: Invoice Online. You can find it on our trainer website (https://trainer.ltc-online.de/invoice.htm). After logging in you will see an overview of all your current courses. The invoice will be generated automatically when you put in the dates of your classes, and can be printed out after entering the invoice number and date. The tool also provides an upload function. It is important that you attach copies of all the corresponding attendance lists. Otherwise your invoice cannot be processed. We kindly ask you to send in your invoice by the 3rd of each month. LTC will transfer payment to your bank account within 30 days. The login will be provided by LTC in time.

Course documentation

At the beginning of each course you’ll receive an attendance list and a course record sheet (“Unterrichtsprotokoll”). Please keep the attendance sheet until the end of the course and send in copies of it each month with your invoice. Please keep a record of the course content, you may be asked to provide this info an any stage of the course. Once the course is finished, make sure to send in original attendance list.
You’ll also be asked to comment on the participants needs and goals and the planned focus of the training at the beginning of the course. Towards the end, you’ll need to provide information about the progress and level.

Cancellations

By trainer: Cancellations of regular sessions should be avoided. If it’s unavoidable (illness / emergency), please inform LTC / your learners as early as possible so that appropriate steps can be taken. Sessions shall be made up for either by arrangement with learners or at the end of the course. By client / participant: Trainer will be paid in full for classes cancelled by the client less than 24 hours before the session.

Holidays

There are no set holiday times. Courses usually take a Christmas and Easter break and 2- 4 weeks in the summer, scheduled around our clients’ wishes. Other vacation times can be arranged. We do however expect you to keep absences during regular training times to a minimum.

Public Holidays

All German public holidays are observed. If a lesson falls on a public holiday, trainers are expected to make up the lesson at the end of the course.

Absent Students

For students who miss a class, please give their materials and homework to a colleague or send it to them via email. Ultimately, the participants must take the responsibility for finding out what has been covered in the lessons missed and what self-study is to be done before the next lesson.

Assessment and Formation of Groups

New students are usually assessed before a course and then divided into groups according to their level. If students are dissatisfied or uncomfortable in the group or if you feel their level is not right for the group, please address this with your training manager as soon as possible.

Method

The communication-based training focuses on speaking and listening skills to ensure effective verbal communication. Grammar, vocabulary and writing skills are integrated as appropriate and continually developed. Needs-oriented and carefully chosen training material facilitates effective and lasting improvement of language skills.
We expect you to be professional, flexible and open to students’ needs. Remember that your students might have a long day’s work behind them! Please spice up the activities in your classes to make them interactive and entertaining. Students’ heads should be up and interacting, not down and writing.

Materials

In addition to working with up to date standard textbooks, modern media and a variety of material resources, our pedagogic department continually develops customised student and trainer material for specific clients and industries.
There is training material (downloadable) for a variety of topics and levels available for you to use in the LTC trainer portal.

Company Materials

Please ask participants to provide authentic material like faxes, brochures, business letters, reports, etc. which you can incorporate into the course to tailor make it for the participants. Invite your participants to suggest relevant topics in order to improve fluency and confidence in job-specific situations.

Homework

Please explain to your students that guided self-study is a compulsory component of any course. Participants absolutely must review in order to remember what they have learned in the lessons. Help them develop good study habits e.g. a vocabulary notebook, a box of index cards with grammar points or useful phrases, an index card with phrases for telephoning taped to their office telephone, flash cards to use on the bus, etc. It is important to give them a small amount of homework, for example a worksheet or short grammar exercises.

Motivation

The motivation of a learner is often a direct reflected of the motivation of the trainer. Establish a manner of teaching which suits your personality and treat learners in a way which is natural to your motivated style rather than putting on a ‘performance’. A lack of enthusiasm can only be a deterrent to progress, so be positive about the activities and materials that you are using. Be interested in the development of the learner and give encouragement if they feel progress is not being made and recognition if it is. A combination of the personal touch together with professional teaching can go a long way in fostering motivation.

Feedback

LTC’s training philosophy incorporates a high degree of customer service. In order to ensure the quality of our courses we regularly conduct feedback sessions with all the participants and trainers.

Resignation

Please let us know as far in advance as possible if you plan to resign so that we can find a suitable replacement for you.
